BNP has become desperate to come to power by any means, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said, the leaders of the party have lost their knowledge.
In a statement on Thursday (April 25), he condemned and protested the politically motivated statement of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
Awami League general secretary said, BNP leaders do not understand that Awami League does politics by standing in line with the people; Plans and determines programs for public welfare. We are always accountable to the people. On the other hand, BNP has been doing anti-people politics.
Obaidul Quader said that while BNP was in power, it ran a steam roller of regime-exploitation and oppression by treating the people as enemies, and established a reign of terror in the entire country by sponsoring terrorism and radical militancy. And now they are trying to get into power by using the people as a tool to create confusion and anarchy against the constitutionally legitimate and democratically elected government.
Awami League General Secretary said that BNP failed in democratic movement and chose the path of terrorism and violence in the name of so-called anti-government movement. Terrorist and cadre forces of BNP and its allies conduct terrorist activities through arson and vandalism with the aim of obstructing the progress of the government and the development of the country. Their main targets are the country’s people and state resources.
In the name of thwarting the 12th National Assembly elections in the past, they have burnt innocent people and destroyed state assets through arson. And when the country’s law and order forces and His Highness Court took steps to protect people’s safety and peace and order, BNP leaders tried to question it. BNP is actually a terrorist organisation, it is their policy decision to harbor terrorists.’
He said that BNP had created its own terrorists and cadre army as well as terrorists like Bangla Bhai from power and dismissed it as ‘Bangla Bhai media’s creation’ to protect him. The government led by Sheikh Hasina is determined to take appropriate legal action against terrorist groups to ensure peace and security of the people.
Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina is struggling to establish a culture of justice by breaking the culture of lawlessness, said the general secretary of Awami League, whoever is a terrorist or a criminal must face justice. The tactic of shielding terrorists behind political rhetoric will not succeed.
