A letter has been sent against BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed and the party’s Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon seeking an explanation for the news published in the media.
The letter signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi was given on Monday (September 2).
Acknowledging the receipt of the letter, Salahuddin Ahmed said, “The letter has been sent by the party asking for an explanation of the report published against me in the media. This has been done according to party democracy. I have not yet responded to the letter explaining the published news.
It was reported that Salahuddin went to his home district of Cox’s Bazar to receive a reception using the luxury car of the controversial businessman S Alam Group. This BNP leader came under widespread criticism within the party.
Salahuddin Ahmed called a press conference at his residence in Gulshan on Monday to explain about this. There he said, I apologize and express my sorrow to the countrymen for this unintentional mistake.
On the other hand, the joint general secretary of the party, Khairul Kabir Khokon, has been accused of involvement in various financial irregularities in his district Narsingdi. BNP has sought his explanation on this.
