BNP Paribas joins forces with an insurance start-up

DECRYPTION – The bank and the American unicorn Lemonade are launching home insurance together.

It is a rather unprecedented alliance in Europe. BNP Paribas Cardif, the insurance company of BNP Paribas, and Lemonade, the American insurance start-up (insurtech), offer joint home insurance. The two insurers, who operate in very different worlds, co-insure this 100% digital insurance (from subscription to the declaration of claims), dedicated solely to tenants. It is available on both the Cardif and Lemonade sites. Launched in 2016 in New York, this unicorn (valued at over $1 billion) was one of the first to specialize in 100% digital home insurance.
