Acting Chairman of BNP Tariq Rahman said that with the support of the people, BNP wants to see the country run in the national government system and the bicameral parliament attached to the constitution in the future.

He said this in a speech addressed to the Trinamool leaders and activists of the Dhaka division on Wednesday (September 4) as part of the series of programs.

Tariq Rahman spoke online from London.

BNP National Standing Committee members Mirza Abbas, Abdul Moin Khan and Gayeshwar Chandra Roy were present at this time.

Acting Chairman of BNP said, ‘I feel it necessary to inform the countrymen about another important reform plan. In the country, there are many scholars, talented teachers, artists-writers, journalists, researchers, doctors, technical experts, humanitarian workers who are not involved with traditional politics, but want to participate in the formation, development and management of the country; But in the current constitutional framework, there is no opportunity for them to contribute to Parliament. To utilize their services and contributions to the work of the country, BNP wants to see a bicameral parliament system with an upper house attached to the constitution in our country like many countries in the world.’

He said, ‘Our forefathers fought and gave us a free country. The key to winning this war was unquestioned national unity. It is sad but true that after independence we could not utilize the power of that unity. The country has been divided since the first day as the party government of Awami League came to power instead of a necessary national government. As a result, a large part could not contribute to the formation of the country despite the desire.

Acting Chairman of BNP said, ‘We have seen how people of one party roam everywhere in party government; And everyone else’s position becomes insignificant and secondary. As a result, the country is deprived of the services of a large population.

He said, ‘We do not want to repeat the opportunity that was missed that day without using the power of national unity after independence. With the support of the people, BNP wants to see the country run through the national government in the future.’

Tariq Rahman also said, ‘Those who participated in the struggle to restore democracy and voting rights for the people of this country; All of them will participate in the management of the country in the future, so that the country is not deprived of the benefits of their contribution.’

He said, ‘I can only humbly tell you about our future plans and goodwill, because we know that the support of the people of the country can only help us to implement our plans.’

Tariq Rahman said, ‘I hope the people will not want to see those parties or individuals join the national government; Who turned the whole country into the private property of a group and family. Those who burdened each and every one of us with a debt burden of one and a half lakh rupees in the name of so-called development and smuggled thousands, lakhs of crores of rupees abroad. A mountain of wealth has been built in the country. Missing-murder attacks-cases have brought life to the people of the country by torture. The prices of daily necessities, rice, pulses, salt, oil, medicines have gone beyond the reach of people. All the pillars of the state, including the law, judiciary, executive department, have been destroyed.’

He said, ‘Every district upazila, including Dhaka, has stained the blood of hundreds of innocent people even before fleeing; The people will certainly not want to see those tyrants included in the national government.’

Tariq Rahman congratulated all concerned for the participation of BNP leaders and workers at all levels in the uninterrupted movement of the past 17 years and their steadfast trust in the party and said, ‘Why should you let your sacrifices and contributions be damaged by the misdeeds of a handful of miscreants? Be careful, be aware, resist.’

Tariq Rahman advised the leaders and activists to adapt themselves to the changing expectations and language of the people in the current context and to gain the trust and confidence of the people. He directed the application of his political wisdom and strategy in dealing with the invisible adversary that had recently emerged.

Expressing immense trust and gratitude to Trinamool once again, Tariq Rahman said that Trinamool has repeatedly protected BNP during all the crises of the party. BNP’s success and progress as a party will never be hindered if the unwavering faith that Shahid Zia, National leader Begum Khaleda Zia and BNP ideals are kept by the dedicated life workers who do not expect MP, ministerial posts.
