jpnn.com – A team from the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) conducted outreach and pre-audit of hotel security standards in East Kalimantan, Wednesday (3/7).

This step was taken to ensure the security of the implementation of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN).

Head of the BNPT RI Environmental Security Sub-Directorate, Navy Colonel Setyo Pranowo, said that socialization and pre-audits of hotels were mainly carried out at accommodations for important state guests.

Some hotels include Novotel and Ibis Balikpapan. BNPT also screened its management personnel.

“We are socializing the potential threats and pre-audits at Novotel because VIP and VVIP guests will be staying here,” said Setyo, quoted from an official written statement received in Jakarta, Friday (5/7).

BNPT RI assists the hotel security team, including conducting overall personnel screening to avoid external and internal threats.

Setyo said the participation of hotel managers is very important to continue improving the security system so that they have a comprehensive understanding of threat indicators.

“We must be aware of the characteristics of threat indicators,” said Setyo.

The BNPT team conducted socialization and pre-audit of hotel security standards in East Kalimantan, Wednesday (3/7), ahead of the Indonesian Independence Day ceremony at the IKN.
