Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has seized the Beneficiary Owners (BO) accounts of 20 people including former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud, former ICT State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak and former Information and Broadcasting State Minister Muhammad Ali Arafat and former Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed. .

On Thursday (August 29), BSEC suspended their BO accounts on the instructions of Bangladesh Bank’s Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU).

According to the directions BSEC has seized the BO accounts of former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and his wife Lutful Tahmina Khan, his son Safi Mudasser Khan and his daughter Shafia Tasneem Khan. Former Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud, his wife Norun Fatema Hasan and their daughter Nafisa Jumaina Mahmud. Former ICT State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak, his wife Arifa Jasmine Kanika. Former Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat, his wife Sharmin Mustari. Former Lands Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Jabed, his wife Rukhmila Zaman Chowdhury, his relative Zara Zaman, his sister Roksana Zaman Chowdhury, his brother Anisuzzaman Chowdhury and his daughter Zeba Zaman Chowdhury. Besides, accounts of Pirojpur Awami League Joint Secretary and Member of Parliament Mohiuddin Maharaj, his wife Umm Kulsoom, his son Sammam Junaid Ifti have been seized.
