BOAD signs a framework agreement with Côte d’Ivoire Innovation 20

This Thursday, June 08, 2023, in Abidjan, Messrs. Moustapha BEN BARKA, Vice-President of BOAD and Steven BEDI, President of the association Côte d’Ivoire Innovation 20 (Ci20), signed a framework agreement of cooperation, in the presence of Mr. Amadou COULIBALY, Minister of Digital Economy of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire.

According to the provisions of this agreement, the Bank and the Ci20 association undertake to cooperate within the framework of all actions or projects in the field of digital transformation in the States, where one or the other Party operates. In an exhaustive manner, this cooperation will focus on (i) the implementation of projects and programs for the development and promotion of the digital economy sector, in general; (ii) the co-construction of innovative financial vehicles for the benefit of start-ups and technology companies in the Member States; (iii) institutional and technical support for programs and opportunities that create value, income and youth employment, offered by the Ci20; (iv) the co-construction of business clusters, with a strong social and environmental impact. Ci20 aims to promote the digital economy, Tech and digital, as levers for creating jobs for young people; the promotion of national champions, Ivorian and UEMOA startups; finally, the increase in the share of the digital economy in the GDP of Côte d’Ivoire, making it a pilot for the region. This general cooperation framework reflects the convergence of missions between the two parties and the existence of points of synergy, offering greater scope and impact to their actions in favor of the populations of the WAEMU zone.
