Sister of singers Nick and Aaron Carter dies at 41

LOS ANGELES (WJW) — Bobbie Jean, sister of singers Nick Carter and the late Aaron Carter, has died at the age of 41, TMZ reported Saturday. Bobbie Jean was previously featured on multiple episodes of the family reality show, “House of Carters,” but had mostly stayed out of the limelight in recent years.

Her death comes just a few months after Aaron’s untimely passing in November 2022. The family has experienced tragedy before, with their sister Leslie dying in 2012.

“I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean; and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time,” her mother, Jane Carter, told TMZ. “When I am able to think clearly, I’ll release a fuller statement; but until then I would request to be left to grieve in private.”

Details surrounding Bobbie Jean’s death are still unknown, but TMZ reported that it occurred on Saturday morning.

Addressing the public, Jane Carter expressed her concern for her granddaughter Bella, who has now lost both her mother and father. “However deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater. So, I would ask the sympathetic to say a prayer for my precious 8-year-old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother,” she said.

The circumstances surrounding Bobbie Jean’s death are still unclear, but it has undoubtedly reignited the family’s grief after the losses of Aaron and Leslie.
