jpnn.comJAKARTA – President Joko Widodo responded to the issue of the many parties supporting Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution, to run as a candidate for governor of North Sumatra (Sumut).
According to Jokowi, the large amount of support has nothing to do with his and Bobby’s influence as the President’s sons-in-law.
He also suggested asking the political parties that support Bobby directly.
“Ask the parties. They are smart,” he said in South Lampung, quoted from the official statement of the presidential secretariat, Thursday (11/7).
Jokowi said the party also saw Bobby’s electability, which was considered high in North Sumatra.
“What is usually looked at is electability, don’t think about it as a party, the party is smart, especially the leader,” he said.
Jokowi’s visit to Lampung was accompanied by the Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) who is also the General Chair of the National Mandate Party (PAN).
PAN is also known to support Bobby as a gubernatorial candidate for the North Sumatra Pilkada.
According to Jokowi, the large amount of support for Bobby has nothing to do with his influence and as the President’s son-in-law.
