BODØ/GLIMT – SARPSBORG 08 6-0:
On Saturday afternoon, there was a 6-0 victory over the Sarpsborg team at Aspmyra.
This allowed Glimt to increase their lead at the top of the table to eight points ahead of Brann, who have one game in hand.
Before Saturday’s domination, Christian Michelsen’s boys in Sarpsborg had gone seven games without a loss. The last time they returned home without points was all the way back on June 28. It was also Glimt who proved too strong then, in what was Michelsen’s debut as coach for the Østfold team.

Jostein Gundersen sent Glimt into the lead with a header after 19 minutes, before Andreas Helmersen doubled the score before halftime. After the break, it turned into a goal fest at Aspmyra, as both Ulrik Saltnes, Jens Petter Hauge, and Kasper Høgh (two goals) also got on the scoresheet.
Knutsen: – Fun
– Today it flowed well, especially in the last 20 minutes. It was very fun, said Hauge to TV 2 after the big win.
– It turned out very well, and there were great goals. The game was hanging in the balance at 2-0, and Sarpsborg opened it up a bit, but when we got to 3-0, we had an extremely big space. It was nice, and scoring six goals, keeping a clean sheet, and delivering a good football game is fun, agreed Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen.

It was also Glimt who got the best start when Gundersen headed in a corner from Sondre Sørli after 19 minutes.
Things didn’t get easier for Sarpsborg when Eirik Wichne had to go off due to injury just five minutes later. Peter Reinhardsen came on.
Seven minutes before halftime, it was 2-0 for the yellow shirts when August Mikkelsen played Helmersen through, who slammed in the second goal.
– It’s always nice. I feel like it comes at a good time, as it’s not fully clicking for us, but then we got a counter and capitalized on it, Helmersen told TV 2 during the break.
Old acquaintances
However, at halftime, Glimt made a substitution, taking off Sondre Brunstad Fet for namesake Sondre Auklend for what would be his debut for the northern lads in the Eliteserien.
The former Viking player made his official debut for the northerners when he was subbed in towards the end of the qualifying match for the Champions League against Red Star on Tuesday.

Sarpsborg’s new signing from Viking, Harald Nilsen Tangen, also came on from the bench after 55 minutes. The 23-year-old replaced Victor Halvorsen, and Aimar Sher also had to be substituted due to injury.
Midway through the half, Saltnes sealed the game when he went alone and chipped the ball over Carljohan Eriksson in Sarpsborg’s goal.
– A festive day
And it took only two minutes before Hauge also got on the scoresheet after being set up by the new signing Philip Zinckernagel.
– It’s a festive day at Aspmyra, concluded TV 2 commentator Peder Mørtvedt.
However, Glimt was not done there, for just five more minutes passed before it was 5-0 on the scoreboard after Høgh scored two minutes after coming on. Five minutes later, he made it six.
On Wednesday, Glimt will visit Red Star in the decisive match in the Champions League qualification. From the first leg in Northern Norway, the yellow shirts lead 2-1.
