After two days of searching, the body of 41-year-old Uérbio Teixeira Santana, known as Chico, was found this Tuesday morning (5), on the Sucuriú River, in Paraíso das Águas, 277 kilometers from Campo Grande. He had disappeared into the waters after the boat he was piloting collided with a capybara.
According to Portal BNC Notícias, Chico was returning home with a 51-year-old friend, when a few meters from docking at the municipal port for disembarkation, the boat collided against a capybara. Because of the accident, Uerbius disappeared into the waters.
Firefighters were triggered and a team of divers began the search. The body was located this morning by volunteers, who know the region and helped with the work, floating about 2 km from the accident site.
Case – Uérbio was fishing with his friend in the region known as “algado” and when the two were returning the accident happened in the place called linhão. The two men were thrown overboard.
The victim’s friend, who has not been named, said he saw Uerbio sinking twice and screaming for help, but was unable to help him, as the vests were inside the vessel. He claimed he managed to get back to the boat and even looked for his friend, but he couldn’t find it.
