Boeing has to halt deliveries of Dreamliners

by time news

Dhe US aircraft manufacturer Boeing has temporarily halted deliveries of its 787 Dreamliner. The FAA announced that additional investigations would be carried out on a fuselage component. Deliveries would not resume until the FAA was satisfied the problem had been resolved, it said. Boeing shares lost 2.6 percent in after-hours trading.

Boeing announced that when examining the certification documents, “an analysis error by our supplier in connection with the front pressure bulkhead of the aircraft” was discovered. Boeing has notified the FAA and put 787 deliveries on hold. There is no immediate safety or flight issue for the operating fleet. “Although near-term deliveries will be impacted, we do not expect any change in our production and delivery forecasts for the year at this time.”

Boeing had previously stopped Dreamliner deliveries for over a year in mid-2021 after the FAA commented on possible production problems.
