Air Europe announced that a plane on a flight from Madrid to Montevideo, Uruguay, made an emergency landing in Natal, Brazil, after several passengers were injured due to “severe turbulence.”

The Spanish company explained in a statement on the “X” platform, “The plane is a Dreamliner Boeing 787-9” (Boeing 787-9 Dream) “naturally landed” in Natal, northeastern Brazil, and the injuries were taken care of.

A diplomatic source in Uruguay told Agence France-Presse that “between 25 and 30 people were wounded,” explaining that this toll was temporary and that some had left the hospital where they were taken.

The source added, “Most of them suffered minor injuries, and none of them are in danger,” who explained that “passengers who needed medical attention were transferred to the Monsignor and Alfredo Gurgel Hospital in Natal.”
