Bogandé: 100 vulnerable people receive animals for breeding
Bogandé, November 24, 2023 (AIB) – The NGO OCADES Caritas International SED Fada handed over, on Wednesday November 22, 2023 in Bogandé, animals to around a hundred vulnerable beneficiaries to be used for breeding. For greater efficiency, the beneficiaries have seen their capacities strengthened in breeding techniques.
In total, 100 beneficiaries, from Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and vulnerable people from the commune of Bogandé, received support from the NGO OCADES Caritas Fada to begin their small ruminant breeder production activities. Each beneficiary left with 2 goats and a goat for the effective start of their breeding activity.
According to Salifou NADJOARI, Monitoring-Evaluation Officer, the EA20 2023 project aims to reduce the vulnerability and increase the resilience of very poor households, particularly those affected by the security crisis. This is why the project provided 100 beneficiaries with animals for breeding.
In order to give them the chance to succeed in the activity, the technical breeding services were called upon to provide training on breeding techniques for the benefit of said beneficiaries.
According to trainer Tadjoa TANKOANO, to succeed in breeding, it is necessary to put in place suitable infrastructures and choose small ruminants with good conformations.
It is also necessary to take the necessary measures to have food in good quality and quantity, and respect the vaccination schedule while observing good hygiene of the premises and breeding equipment.
The capacity building session allowed the beneficiaries to deepen their knowledge about livestock farming. Like GUITANGA Mariam, all the beneficiaries expressed their deep gratitude to OCADES Caritas for its support. They promise to do everything possible not to disappoint the partner.
