jpnn.com – SUKARAJA – Bogor Regency residents are expected to be more active in monitoring the implementation of the 2024 Pilkada along with the launch of the Citizens Forum.

The forum was launched by the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Bogor Regency, West Java, to make it easier for the public to carry out supervision.

“The goal is for the public to not only be aware of election supervision, but also to anticipate when there are suspected violations,” said the Coordinator for Prevention, Community Participation and Public Relations of the Bogor Regency Bawaslu, Burhanuddin, at the launch of the Citizens’ Forum in Sukaraja, Friday (12/7).

He said that through the Bawaslu Citizens Forum, they invited the public to care about monitoring the regional elections.

Burhanudin explained that in addition to targeting communities that are active in election affairs, the Citizens’ Forum also targets communities that are active outside of these matters.

In the future, people who join the Citizens Forum will become an extension of Bawaslu.

“Later, educational work institutions, training and so on will be provided, then later after the community is formed, it can share or convey election information and supervision to its surroundings,” said Burhanudin.

Bawaslu also has other breakthroughs in the form of surveillance villages, then anti-money politics villages and digital communities in the form of complaint pages.

Bogor Regency residents are expected to be more active in monitoring the implementation of the 2024 Pilkada with the launch of the Citizens Forum.
