The farewell of an eternal hope. Considered one of the greatest hopes in world football around the 2010s, Bojan Krkic announced on Thursday that he was drawing a line under his career as a professional footballer. He had organized a press conference in the auditorium of FC Barcelona to say goodbye.
“Life is made up of stages. I have to be honest with myself and realistic,” he explained on the reasons for his choice. At his side, the president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, congratulated him on his career: “We can say that Krcic’s name is part of Barca history. Beyond your track record, we will remember this player from Linyola (his home town) who broke all La Masia records and who managed to generate enthusiasm among the supporters. This is how Laporta concluded his speech, paying tribute to one of the most promising players Barca are known for but also one of the Catalan club’s biggest regrets. At 32, Bojan is ending a career during which he has traveled through 7 countries and played for 9 different clubs, for a total of 91 goals in 422 games.
