Lula and Bolsonaro
The lawsuit filed by former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) against President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT-SP) was archived by the Justice of the Federal District. The former ruler of the country claimed to have been the victim of a crime against honor for the speech made by the PT official at an official event held in May.

Court dismissed the case
Despite the argument presented by Bolsonaro, Judge Giodano Resende Costa, of the 4th Civil Court of Brasília, chose to archive the process. The magistrate argued that the action had to be filed against the Union, because it is related to a speech given by Lula as President of the Republic, at a public event.
Bolsonaro’s legal advisor, Fabio Wajngarten, used social media to criticize the judge’s decision. He reported that the filing was “absurd” and warned his followers that the former president will appeal.
