The lawyers of Jair Bolsonaro will resort to STF (Federal Supreme Court) on the unanimous rejection of the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) to the former president’s appeal against the decision that made him ineligible for eight years. To this end, the defense will present a so-called extraordinary appeal, which will question points in the Electoral Court’s decision that would violate the Constitution. Last Thursday, the 28th, TSE ministers voted to reject Bolsonaro’s defense appeal, which was presented in August. The vote, which ended more than two months after the ministers’ decision to condemn the PL politician, took place in a virtual plenary, when the deliberation is carried out on the TSE’s website. The former president’s lawyers tried to reverse the determination that, in practice, will prevent Bolsonaro from running for office in the next elections. However, the ministers considered that the decision should not be changed. Thus, the vote of the rapporteur prevailed, the minister Benedito Gonçalves, against the appeal. The minister followed the position Carmen Lucia and magistrates André Ramos Tavares, Alexandre de Moraes, Floriano de Azevedo Marques and Raul Araújo.
