by times news cr

BOLZANO. Late yesterday evening, following a request for intervention received by the Operations Centre of the Police Headquarters via the emergency number “112 NUE”, the Patrols of the “Flying” Squad of the State Police were sent to the area around Piazza Fiera as a theft in progress involving a car had been reported and the two perpetrators had been surprised by the security personnel of a local establishment.

Shortly before, two girls had noticed two individuals lurking suspiciously around some parked cars and, shortly after, open the door of one of these, to then search inside. Immediately after, the two criminals quickly moved away from the area taking the stolen goods with them, but were chased by the security personnel, alerted by the young women at the same time as the call to 112.

The police officers, who arrived shortly at the indicated location, took charge of the two thieves, and then began to take witness statements and carry out investigations aimed at determining the dynamics of what happened.

In that context, the two arrested people immediately showed themselves intolerant of the presence of the policemen, and then threatened and insulted them with offensive, racist and threatening phrases.

Once the necessary checks had been carried out, the officers proceeded to transfer the two individuals to the Police Headquarters for the formal procedures.

In the offices in Largo Palatucci the two foreigners were identified for such reasons MHE, a 28-year-old Moroccan citizen, and LM, a 25-year-old Algerian citizen, both with numerous criminal records for crimes such as theft, illegal possession of weapons and objects capable of causing offence, unjustified possession of altered keys, receiving stolen goods, robbery, invasion of land or buildings and theft from parked cars: this last crime, in relation to which the two appear to be true professionals. Furthermore, both were found to be recipients of a ban on returning to the Municipality of Bolzano.

While the documents were being drawn up, other documents arrived at the police station three young people who reported having been victims, in the same area of the intervention, of three thefts committed on their cars while parked; after filing a complaint, the stolen items, which were part of the recovered loot, were returned to the victims.

At the end of the Judicial Police actions, the two foreigners were arrested for aggravated theft, failure to comply with the ban on returning to the Municipality of Bolzano, contempt and threats to a Public Official.

Police Chief Paolo Sartori has issued two expulsion orders against them, which will become effective as soon as the two individuals are released from prison.

“Thanks to the promptness and civic sense with which two girls alerted the Police and the Security Officers of a Public Establishment, it was possible to bring to Justice two repeat offenders, sadly known to the Police Forces – highlighted Police Commissioner Sartori –. This type of Security Police activity is aimed at preventing foreigners from taking root in our territory, often without the necessary qualification to stay in our country, who, with their behavior and because of their previous convictions, as well as their ostentatious opposition to integrating into our Society and respecting our Laws, cause particular social alarm and compromise civil coexistence”.
