BOLZANO. Five excellent projects – chosen from 1,700 certified projects – were selected by a jury of experts from the CasaClima Agency in Bolzano and received the “CasaClima Awards”. In Bolzano, as part of the 22nd edition of the Casa Clima Awards, two Fidelity Cubes and a special recognition from the CasaClima Agency were also awarded.
This year, the public award went to Milan. This year, too, the expert jury awarded the buildings that best met sustainability standards and implemented the CasaClima standard in a particularly exemplary manner. Before building on vacant land, one should always consider the possibilities of using and renovating existing buildings. For this reason, this year’s awards focused on existing buildings. First prize went to the Taufers Retirement Home (Pedevilla Architekten) in Campo Tures (BZ). The renovation of the retirement home represents an exemplary intervention of modernization and respect for history.
Second prize went to the eco B&B Cà del Buio in Finale Ligure (SV) (Studio Rossi & Poggi), a model of innovation while respecting tradition, an example of how sustainability can be combined with historical preservation.
Third place went to the “Fabrik” in Lana (Gögele Kiem & Partner – Arch. Forer Wolfgang), the former “Zuegg” jam factory, an excellent example of how respect for historical heritage can be combined with modern needs. Another prize was awarded to Schloss Plars wine & suites in Lagundo (monovolumen architecture +design/Arch. Jury Anton Pobitzer), which now serves as a hotel.
The fifth prize of the jury went to the residential building Uptown Torino (Boffa Petrone & Partners) in Turin (TO), a successful urban regeneration project that combines technological innovation, environmental sustainability and quality of life. This year the CasaClima Agency also awarded a special recognition to the Chalet Sincero (Sistema Architettura/Arch. Francesco Merlo) in Sauze d’Olux (TO), a particularly sustainable project from a social point of view.
The two Fidelity Awards went to the architect Gianpiero Cavallo and to TeamKlimahouse of FieraBolzano. The public award this year goes to Aura Homes of Milan
