BOLZANO. The officers of the Police “Flying Squad” intervened yesterday evening (12 July) in a house in Don Bosco neighborhood in Bolzano following a call for help to 112 during which an elderly man reported having been violently beaten by a man he had given hospitality to.

When the police arrived on site, they were greeted at the entrance of the building by an elderly man who was limping and bleeding from various parts of his body, who was immediately approached by a man who was ordering him to return home.

Feeling “hunted”, the man lunged at the officers, only to be restrained with great difficulty by the police.

They were on site I called the 118 paramedics to help the victim, while the officers decided to inspect the apartment, finding signs of a struggle, with numerous traces of blood on the floor.

Before being taken to the hospital for treatment, the victim said that it was not the first time that the attacker, who had been staying with him for some time, had beaten him and that the beating that had just occurred had been caused by a reprimand for the fact that he had returned home drunk and threatening.

Taken to the Police Headquarters, the man was identified: he is a 40 year old repeat offender from Bolzanowith numerous previous convictions for crimes against the person and property. He was arrested on charges of resisting a public official and aggravated mistreatment.

The police commissioner Paolo Sartori, after having activated the Anti-Crime Division of the Police Headquarters in this regard, has ordered the start of the procedure aimed at issuing the Personal Prevention measure of Special Surveillance against the arrested person.
