BOLZANO. The energy consumption of the Municipality of Bolzano in 2023 decreased by 25.6% compared to 2010, passing da 58.230 MWh a 43.349 MWh. This is what emerges from the annual monitoring of energy consumption by users of the Municipality of Bolzano, which aims to identify energy-intensive sectors and implement energy-saving measures.
The savings achieved in recent years would have been achieved thanks to a series of energy efficiency interventions, corrections in the management of the systems and changes in user behavior. Energy saving actions have been implemented, such as turning off heating systems in schools during the Christmas holidays, reducing the heating period, lowering the setpoint temperature, continuously replacing traditional lamps for public lighting with LED lamps and optimizing the management of night-time public lighting. The municipal administration is also trying to use municipal roofs as much as possible to install photovoltaic systems, especially on schools, to reduce the consumption of energy taken from the electricity grid.
The Municipal Councillor for the Environment Chiara Rabiniexpresses its satisfaction with “the results achieved so far, in the belief that the Municipality of Bolzano is on the right track to reach the objectives set, with a view to a general improvement in the quality of the environment”.
