BOLZANO. Fire alarm inside the steel mills Valbruna, in the industrial area of ​​Bolzano, today around noon. The cause was the liquid steel leak from a fusion container, which triggered a fire of hydraulic and electrical cables.

Workers on site moved the melting vessel to a safe area, which prevented the fire from spreading further. Firefighters used shovels to effectively apply extinguishing material, insulating powder, and put out the fire.



Production has resumed immediately after the intervention. The workers were evacuated, but no one was injured. The firefighters of Bolzano intervened with the volunteers of Oltrisarco-Aslago.

On June 21, an explosion in another steelworks in the South Tyrolean capital, Aluminum Bozen, caused one death and three serious injuries, hospitalized in major burns units in Italy and Germany.
