BOLZANO. The Carabinieri of the Bolzano Company intervened at the Aldi supermarket on Corso Libertàafter a report of a theft in progress. The operation, conducted with professionalism and timeliness, led to thearrest of an individualthanks to the collaboration between the military and the citizens.
During the patrol service, a report from the operations center alerted the patrols of a theft in progress. Arriving on site extremely quickly, the Carabinieri Two suspects identified as trying to sneak out of the supermarket. At the sight of the soldiers, the two fled, starting a hectic chase through the streets of the city center.
A carabiniere continued on foot to chase one of the fugitives, while another soldier, on board the service car, attempted to reach the second suspect, described by some witnesses as armed with a knife. Despite the efforts, the latter has disappeared without a trace.
In the meantime, the suspect chased by the first carabiniere was reached and immobilized with the help of a passerby and another soldieroff duty, who, having noticed what was happening, did not hesitate to intervene. During the arrest, the fugitive put up violent resistance, pushing one of the two carabinieri to the groundtwice in a row, under the astonished eyes of the many customers of the “Bar Ciak” and the “Tiffany”. The arrested person was subsequently handcuffed and taken to the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Bolzano, having continued to show aggressive behavior even inside the security cell of the service car.
The arrested person was found to have a police record and given his residence in Italy without a fixed abode; he was ordered to be held in the security cells of the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Bolzano, awaiting a summary trial.
During the arrest and subsequent detention operations, the suspect continued to show hostile attitudes, damaging the furniture of the Carabinieri command and attacking the soldiers present. It was therefore necessary to resort to maximum attention and precaution to guarantee the safety of all the operators involved.
