BOLZANO. An employee of the “Acqua e Sapone” shop on Via Rovigo had noticed a woman enter, go to the perfume area and take two packages, then furtively hide them in her pants. When asked for explanations, seeing herself discovered, she returned only one perfume, without returning the other, and ran away. At this point the employee called 112 and the police flying squad managed to identify and stop the criminal as she was driving along Via Roma in the direction of Oltrisarco.
It happened on Saturday afternoon, July 13. At the police station the woman was identified as SM, a 38-year-old from Bolzano with a criminal record for crimes of various nature and severity, arrested several times for thefts, robberies and for breaking the windows of parked cars.
The police, after having searched the woman, recovered and returned to their rightful owners both the perfume stolen from the shop and other cosmetic products, also hidden in a bag and stolen shortly before from other commercial establishments in the area, Caddy’s on Via Vicenza and DM on Via Roma, for a total value of several hundred euros.
The woman was reported at liberty to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Bolzano, as she could not be arrested due to the crimes she had committed having been flagrantly committed.
The Chief of Police of Bolzano Paolo Sartori has ordered the start of the procedure for issuing the special surveillance measure.
