BOLZANO. Yesterday morning, through the emergency number “112 NUE”, a call arrived at the Operations Centre of the Police Headquarters for a violent family fight in Don Bosco areawhere one of the protagonists brandished a knife.
Arriving immediately on the scene, the police officers of the “Flying Squad” of the State Police immediately contacted the woman who had asked for help, who explained that she had had yet another violent argument with her son for trivial reasons, also linked to a terrible cohabitation between the two.
The woman immediately reported being particularly shocked by what had happened, also due to the presence in the home of elderly parentsindicated to the officers the position of his son, who, after the furious argument, had walked away and headed towards his car parked in the garage.
At the sight of the police, the boy, very agitated, locked himself in the car and categorically refused any dialogue with the officers; only after numerous attempts, with patience and empathy, the policemen managed to convince him to talk to them and explain what had happened shortly before.
The young man confirmed that he had had yet another violent fight with his mother, the result of disagreements that have been going on for a long time, and, at the height of it, in a moment of despair, he had taken a kitchen knife and then locked himself in the bathroom threatening suicide.
Comforted by the words of the policemen, the young man, still shocked by what had happened, gave up his intent and agreed to get out of the car.
Once the entire dynamics had been reconstructed and the situation had been brought back to normal, the police officers awaited the arrival of the medical personnel, who were sent to the scene to provide assistance to the mother, son and grandparents.
“A situation of serious criticality in intra-family relationships, persistent over time and characterized by violent and dangerous behavior, was addressed and resolved thanks to the prompt and effective intervention of the Police Officers in service with the “Flying Squad” – highlighted the Police Chief of the Province of Bolzano Paul Sartori –. I would like to personally and publicly commend the professionalism and sensitivity shown by the Police officers also on this occasion: let us not forget that the State Police is at the service of the citizen, and helping them, rescuing them and rescuing them in the most difficult situations represents one of the absolute priorities for our Institution”.
