Workers and management at Luxembourg airport signed a new collective agreement, which among other things, provides for the payment of a bonus for 2024 and improvements to the salary scale from 2025. The document was signed on Tuesday and puts an end to an extensive negotiation marathon.
“After a year of intense negotiations, the LCGB and OGBL have finally reached an agreement with the management of Lux-Airport on the introduction of a new collective bargaining agreement (CCT) for the period from 1 January 2025 to 31 January December 2027”, states the joint statement from the two unions.
According to the note, the agreement includes a new salary scale for the approximately 360 airport workers who manage and guarantee the security of the structure. Meanwhile, the extension of the current collective contract to 2024 was also ensured with the payment of a single bonus of 2,200 euros to each worker.
The new agreement will be implemented from January 1, 2025 for a period of three years and includes a new salary scale with “substantially higher starting values and a more attractive salary progression for all salary categories”, which have been redefined, with the expansion of the number of levels, says the statement.
Risk premium will be integrated into the salary
Furthermore, the risk premium, which was paid for each day of actual work, will be integrated into the salary, being also added to the 13th month, taken into account in the calculation of salary supplements and paid during periods of vacation and illness.

“The pandemic and the airline crisis that followed delayed the negotiations, but thanks to a clause that provided for the resumption of negotiations in the event of an improvement in the situation, it was possible to resume discussions at the beginning of 2023”, say the LCGB and OGBL, expressing satisfaction with the agreement reached with the management of Lux-Airport. “It was guaranteed that no worker would lose out”, they emphasize.
