Dubai: The Mohammed bin Rashid Library, which was inaugurated yesterday, will be open to the public on June 16. The library is located in Al Jaddafi, near Dubai Creek. The library is under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

The library building is constructed in the shape of a book on a traditional wooden book rest used to store the Qur’an. It is the largest cultural center and library of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa region.

The seven-story building houses more than one million books and more than six million research papers. Conference centers and exhibition areas are arranged within the library.

Admission to the library will be free, Library Board Member Jamal Al Shehi said. Visitors must also download the Library app.
