“The most important thing is that they open doors to other worlds.” Palma Aparicio thus defines the engine of Bubisher, the network of libraries and bookmobiles that expands new horizons in the Saharawi refugee camps through books and cultural activities. The project that he coordinates was born at the San Narciso de Marín School (Pontevedra) and took the name of a small desert bird that brings good luck. His students proposed to send reading books to the schools in the Sahara and, after explaining the difficulties that their transfer to the area would imply, one of them proposed: “And why not transport a bookmobile?”
