The management of the Bordeaux University Hospital evokes a “strengthened regulation” emergencies at night, for a temporary period. Unions refer to it as “degraded closure . For the past week, the adult emergencies of the Pellegrin hospital have only received, between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m., patients who have called the Samu. Pediatric emergencies and maternity continue to operate normally.
This filtering at the entrance makes it possible, according to the ARS Nouvelle-Aquitaine, to regulate the influx of patients to treat only the most serious cases and respond to the shortage of caregivers in the service. The threat had been hovering for several months: according to the Bordeaux University Hospital, 70% of the medical staff is present in the adult emergency room of the Pellegrin hospital. Night shifts are done with two doctors, against the usual three.
