There are no clear criteria
Although 45 students in total, or 15 per class, is less than the 60 and 20 expected in the previous scenario, these numbers were previously more friendly to border schools. They admitted 25 to 30 children in the 10th-12th grades, which is also a lot for the territories that are 30 kilometers from the external border of the European Union, is confident Imants Slišans, director of the Baltinava secondary school in Balvu region. He adds that none of the regional border high schools – Rekava, Viļak, Kārsava and Baltinava (currently there are a little over 20 students) – do not have 45 students in the high school stage. They have not been reorganized this year, because in order to do so, the municipality must make a decision about it, at the latest, at the end of May. This year, only Viduči elementary school was closed.
As for accessibility schools, it is not clear to I. Slišan which ones will be granted such a status. When asked by the Ministry of Interior, the answer sounded something like this – it will be determined using the OECD methodology. So nothing concrete.
