Dozens of young athletes from 8 cities from 16 sports clubs participated in the third round of the “A1 youth athletics” circuit of BFLA and Telecom, which took place at the Vasil Levski national stadium in Sofia.
Boris Fuskov (KLASA) with 245 points and Ivona Yordanova (Olympia – Vratsa) with 216 points won the triathlon (60 m, long jump and 600/800 m).
Fuskov led already in the first discipline 60 m with 7.6, and three more ran under 8 seconds – the winner of the first round in Yambol – Ioan Radev 7.8, the first of the second round Mario Petrov (Radukanovi – Vidin) – 7.9 and Alex Enev (Team Klyavkov – Plovdiv) – 7.8.
Radev and Kristian Aronov (KLASA) topped the standings in the long jump with attempts of 5.30, and Fuskov was centimeters away from them with 5.24.
Enev also jumped over 5m with a score of 5.08 and Petrov was close behind after recording 4.03 in the long jump.
In the last discipline, Fuskov and Radev showed excellent results at 800 m, respectively with 2:17.4 and 2:18.4, they were far from their competitors.
The battle for first place in the boys was contested. Yordanova won convincingly at 60 m with 8.00 ahead of Maya Koikova (CSKA) – 8.2 and Valena Georgieva (Milka Mihailova – Pernik) – 8.3. In the second long jump discipline – Georgieva was first with 4.78 against Ivona’s 4.68, and Veliza Ivanova (Radukanovi – Vidin) achieved the second result with 4.73.
Before the 600 m run, Ivona Yordanova led by 10 points over Valena Georgieva, who won with 1:46.8 against 1:50.1 and “melted” 7 points from the difference. So the two finished with 216 against 213 points in favor of the athlete from Vratsa. Maya Koikova also reached 200 points for the third place with a run of 1:50.5 in 600 m. In the fourth position with an equal number of points 179 were Noela Vunova (Athletic – Haskovo) and Nikol Asenova (Lokomotiv Sofia – Nikola Karapetrov).
All the children were awarded by the coaches of the winners – the former national competitors – Polin Mitova and Yuliana Marinova.
The young athletes who competed in the third round of the circuit were from Sofia, Plovdiv, Vratsa, Pernik, Haskovo, Vidin, Botevgrad and Samokov, the next competition is on May 2 at the stadium of the National Sports Academy in Studentski Grad.
