LONDON – The most exhilarating scene is the one you see Boris Johnson trying to find the socks at the end of a loving meeting with his mistress: in the end he does not recover them and goes without socks to what must have been the most important appointment of his day, that is the inauguration of the Paralympic Games, which sees him seated between the his (poor) consort Marina and the Princess Anna.
one of the revelations made by the American businesswoman Jennifer Arcuri in a confession-river al Sunday Mirror: that she had been linked to the current British Prime Minister was known, but now for the first time she says that it was a relationship that went on for four years, from 2012 to 2016.
And the spicy details abound. The two had met when Jennifer, now 35, was still a student: but she hadn’t dissuaded the then mayor of London from making her his mistress. Boris didn’t even try to hide the affair: he took her to bars and restaurants in London, kissed and hugged her in public, flaunting total nonchalance. According to her story, when they met he could not keep his hands to himself: even if, as a cultured person, he loved to recite Shakespeare’s sonnets with her in addition to having sex.
Boris sent her messages os continuously on the mobile phone: and Jennifer had assigned him the code name of Alexander the Great (in fact his first name not Boris, but Alexander). But that’s not all: on more than one occasion the woman sent Boris her topless photos (which she defines as artistic).
On the other hand, it should be remembered that Jennifer, in the London apartment in which they met, had a pole dance pole as a refined piece of furniture.
The relationship between the two had already surfaced at the end of 2019: e an investigation is still pending on Boris’s head, because as mayor of London he had given his mistress, who had become an entrepreneur in the field of new technologies, lucrative contracts. In addition to having taken it with him on several official trips at the expense of taxpayers.
But what effect will these revelations have? Probably none: why Boris on a personal level – and not only – has already been forgiven everything. Not to mention the children scattered around. Officially there are six: four from Marina, one from an art consultant (another lover) and the last one from Carrie. But who knows how many others wear Boris’s blonde mop.
Does all this matter? In a certain way, yes: because at the head of a great country like Great Britain there is a serial liar, a great messenger who has never managed to put his life in order. And character, for a politician, is important.
Even if we must recognize the vision and leadership that allowed him to carry out the Brexi, win the elections and now put his nation on the road that is leading it out of the pandemic.
Who then in the end Boris Johnson? All in all, perhaps, a scoundrel of genius.
