London: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will remain in power after the no-confidence motion against his own party’s MPs failed. 211 party MPs voted in favor of Johnson while 148 opposed. The no-confidence motion comes as more MPs question Boris’ leadership in the Conservative Party. The crackdown on Boris began with the revelation that a liquor party had broken into the official residence during the first Kovid lockdown. Although Boris apologized in parliament for admitting to attending a party, some members of the opposition and the ruling party insisted on resigning. With this, a commission was formed to investigate the incident. The Commission of Inquiry found that similar receptions had taken place not only at Boris’ residence but also at other ministerial residences in which Boris had attended.
