They were elected along with 17 other scientists and public figures in the vote for new members and correspondents of the academy, which ran from 24 to 28 September.
Velchev and Chukov are corresponding members in the field of “Humanities and Social Sciences”. Prof. Chukov is a teacher and author of multidisciplinary studies, a large part of which is devoted to radical Islamic fundamentalism. Boris Velchev is one of the most authoritative names in criminal law science.
Teodora Dimova was elected as a corresponding member in the field of “Arts and art studies”.
The daughter of the writer Dimitar Dimov is a journalist, translator, author of 12 books and 9 plays translated abroad. In addition to her, the artist is also a corresponding member in this field Zhivka Marinova.
The famous cardiologist Prof. Ivo Petrov develops innovative methods in the field of endovascular cardiology, he introduced many innovative therapeutic methods.

Ivan Ilchev was elected an academician in the field of “Humanities and Social Sciences”. Prof. Ilchev is a teacher, and his scientific and scientific-applied activities are focused on the history of Bulgaria, the Balkans and Europe from the Berlin Congress to the end of the Second World War.
Together with him in this field, an academician is already and Ivan Ruschevwhich explores fundamental problems of Bulgarian private law.
