Ninova: He hung a party scalp on his belt

We don’t trust each other, Petkov replied to the GERB leader’s offer for a “gentleman’s agreement”

The natural partners of GERB are PP-DB, with whom they were together in the assembly, plus BSP and ITN.

This formula for a possible future management was set by the leader of GERB, Boyko Borisov. He did it on the day his party registered with the CEC to participate in the early elections on October 27. And his deputy, Tomislav Donchev, spoke of a last chance for politicians and the danger of a new failure to raise votes against representative democracy.

It is fair to tell the people what will be done after the elections, and not to lie to the Bulgarians and then behave like majority-elected parties, explained Borisov. A day earlier, he proposed a “gentleman’s agreement” between the parties.

On Wednesday, the GERB leader again rejected the option of a partnership with “Vazrazhdane”.

Regarding the inclusion of BSP in the group of possible partners, despite the previous ban on GERB not to form a coalition with them, the leader succinctly said: This is what we have in parliament. Otherwise, there will be no government and we will ritually cut off our heads.

And when asked if there was a DPS in the assembly, Borisov answered: “It was, of course.” It was in full assembly.” And he reminded that he, Petkov and Peevski had a conversation with Zelensky about sending weapons to Ukraine, they also did the constitutional reform with the DPS, although they did not support them for a government.

Let’s let the DPS register and see these 20 from one and 20 from the other MPs, but

they are not decisive for the formation of a cabinet,

Borisov said.

But he pointed out that he did not declare that he would negotiate with PP-DB, because they would “come out and say: we will not negotiate”.

In the democratic principle there are negotiations and coalitions for government. Sometimes they are fought for several months and finally it goes to a government… Up to this point we have spent over BGN 1 billion just for elections and the political parties do not give solutions when they are over. If they don’t like “gentlemen’s agreement”, let the “clever ones” come up with another word, suggested Borisov.

The GERB leader again said that three prime ministerial terms are enough for him,

although GERB wants him to do it again. I am undoubtedly the most successful prime minister. But I offered the cabinet “Gabrovski”, “Zhelyazkov” – if I am the reason, I should drop out. We proposed and supported the “Gabriel – Denkov” cabinet, what more? Borisov asked.

He was angry that no one was talking about machine voting anymore today. Now why isn’t anyone asking about machine voting are we? Because the recording with “ala-balata” expired added Borisov. And he repeated his thesis on changing the Electoral Code and introducing a majority vote or the Greek system of bonus MPs for the winner. According to him, if there is a will, changes to the Electoral Code can be adopted even by this parliament.

However, Borissov’s offer for a “gentleman’s agreement” was not warmly received by the other political forces. Especially from the desired partners PP-DB.

To be a gentleman, you must keep your word. The truth is, we don’t trust each other. Otherwise we wouldn’t be at this stage, commented the co-chairman of “Promyanata” Kiril Petkov. According to him, the way out of the political crisis was in an equally distant prime minister, economist or lawyer. And for everyone to agree behind a certain program.

In Italy this model worked very well. I was prime minister when Mario Draghi was also prime minister. He was an expert who advanced the politics of Italy in a large-scale way. I believe that 7 million Bulgarians must find a worthy non-party prime minister whom we can trust, said Petkov.

He shared,

that he felt like in “The Master and Margarita”

of Mikhail Bulgakov, and the reason for this was that laws were introduced to protect the sex change of children from ITN, as well as for the foreign agents of “Vazrazhdane”.

Borisov’s inclusion in the BSP’s potential partners provoked a reaction from the former social leader Kornelia Ninova. Today Borisov succeeded – he hung the scalp of the BSP on his belt like many other parties, she commented.

The time of pre-election coalitions is over. “BSP – United Left” clearly showed what the model is and what the alternative to the current status quo is, however, the temporary chairman of the BSP, Atanas Zafirov, said.

We are on the right track. We can’t be tied to provocations and pre-election baits, Zafirov said. And he explained that entering the elections with preliminary bargaining about who should rule with whom only led to new parliamentary elections.

ITN is in no hurry to give a definitive answer to Borisov, because now is not the time.
