GERB made enough compromises, it’s PP-DB’s turn
“There are two ways. One is GERD and the other is wrong”. With these words, Georg Georgiev opened the GERB campaign in Pernik, where he is the leader of the lists for deputies. He vowed to win the party in the constituency and then broadcast a stable European government.
Party leader Boyko Borisov personally arrived for the event in the mining town. With him are the leader of the list Georg Georgiev and the deputy Denitsa Sacheva.
Georgiev also presented the other candidate MPs on the list. Second on the list is a native of Pernik – Dragomir Peychev. Third is dentist Yordanka Alexandrova, also born and raised in the mining town. The youngest on the list is the third-year student at UNSS, Mihail Dinev. He is sixth in the list and is only 21 years old.
And among the remote viewers of the event may even be the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. Borisov said he told his personal publicist, Sevdelina Arnaudova, to send her a link to the live stream to watch the event, and Borisov sent her his regards.
The head of the social commission in the parliament Denitsa Sacheva commented on the scandal with the former partners of PP-DB from the weekend about the increase in pensions. The PP-DB accused Boyko Borisov’s people of having ordered the social minister Ivaylo Ivanov to increase the pensions to 11%, as planned, despite the initial decision of the NOI supervisory board for 10%. Sacheva explained that she did not order anything to anyone, but as the head of the commission, she called the minister to ask him what his intentions were. Nevertheless, today the official cabinet was convinced that it wants to steal BGN 100 million from pensioners, i.e. BGN 8 per person.
“How do you steal BGN 100 million from pensioners? Do you go pensioner after pensioner and take money?” asked Sacheva.
In Pernik is also the until recently chairman of the National Assembly and leader of the Eurolist of GERB, Rosen Zhelyazkov. He stated that PP-DB did not lose confidence in them because they ruled with GERB and made tough decisions, but because they had the desire to control institutions and put the country in institutional anarchy and political crisis.
“What are the tricks when their campaign doesn’t work? Black PR. Not just political marketing to attract voters with promises, but black PR that aims to achieve results by smearing the opponent. The bad thing is that they will deploy such black PR , who will use metaphors with Lafontaine, Gianni Rodari, I hope they don’t, because they will help us a lot,” said Rosen Zhelyazkov. He said that the “Change” do not even know yet which political family they will be in after the elections. Their partners from “Yes, Bulgaria” have already chosen the European People’s Party. DSB and GERB-SDS are also there.
“They are also dragging their partners from DB. They have caught them and are stretching them like Hristo Ivanov’s suspenders,” he said.
“This is probably the seventh-eighth full hall, and everywhere our main opponent is the PP. We do not see the threats in the other parties at all – everything is pro-Russian, extreme right. We do not see this threat at all, and it is creeping across Europe”, began Boyko Borisov .
He commented on PP-DB’s criticism of the caretaker government, recalling that Dimitar Glavchev is caretaker prime minister because of the changes in the constitution signed personally by Kiril Petkov, Hristo Ivanov and Atanas Atanasov. Borisov reproached them that currently PP-DB is running their campaign on the back of GERB, and until recently they governed with them.
“GERB has so far made all the compromises in order to have a stable government. Now it’s PP-DB’s turn,” he added.
“The war in Ukraine is getting bloodier and bloodier, and Russia is getting stronger, the sanctions do not affect it. We see what is happening with gas every day on the news. And in this situation, let’s leave the country without a government…” commented Borisov.
“I hope the colleagues from both PP-DB and DPS come to their senses. There are still twenty days. Because this country needs stability and security,” he said.
