Borne criticizes LFI’s “anti-Zionism” as “a form of anti-Semitism”

“The anti-Zionism” of La France insoumise is “sometimes also a way of masking a form of anti-Semitism,” said Elisabeth Borne, at the microphone of BFMTV. From Bordeaux, where she is participating in the Renaissance party’s back-to-school campus, this Sunday, the Prime Minister took aim at LFI. A few minutes after her appearance on BFMTV, Elisabeth Borne had already denounced, in a speech to activists, the “revolting ambiguities” of Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s party on the situation in Israel.

Borne also castigates the far right

LFI was accused on Saturday of finding justifications for the Hamas attack against Israel, which left many civilians dead, by denouncing the Islamist movement and Israeli colonization with one voice, a position out of step with the rest of the political class.

Beyond this specific subject of the Middle East, the head of government also denounced in her speech the “methods” of the extreme right: “designating scapegoats, engaging in all-out demagoguery, and setting up the French against each other.”
