Yuri Borzakovsky left the post of head coach of the Russian national athletics team. This was reported on Friday, October 1, at the press service of the All-Russian Athletics Federation (ARAF).

The acting president of the federation, Irina Privalova, informed the presidium members that Borzakovsky resigned as the head coach of the Russian national teams and from October 1 until the appointment of a new head coach she will perform these duties.

“Irina Anatolyevna noted that a competition for the position of head coach will be open soon. For this, a working group will be created to develop criteria that will be published on the federation’s website, ”the Moscow city news agency quoted the message.

Borzakovsky has been the head coach of the Russian national athletics team since 2015.

Earlier, on September 29, Privalova announced that ARAF is starting to search for a new head coach of the Russian national team, RT reports.

According to her, 40-year-old Borzakovsky made the decision to move to the post of sports director of ARAF, and the organization after his arrival “will receive a significant strengthening”, writes REGNUM.
