Boseong County conducted a safety inspection of multi-use facilities in preparation for Chuseok in 2024. Boseong County announced that it conducted a safety inspection of multi-use facilities for two weeks from the 14th to the 28th to ensure the safety of residents and visitors heading home for Chuseok.
Safety inspections for this Chuseok holiday were conducted at a total of 11 facilities, including traditional markets, bus terminals, cultural and retail facilities, and nursing hospitals, where crowding is a concern during the holiday period.
In addition, in order to strengthen the responsibility and effectiveness of safety inspections, a joint safety inspection team was formed with the facility management department and management entity, as well as Boseong Fire Station, Korea Electric Safety Corporation, Korea Gas Safety Corporation, and private experts to systematically inspect.
Key inspection items include: ▲whether the multi-use facility has an emergency contact network and crisis situation manual prepared and managed; ▲whether there are any defects such as damage, cracks, or leaks in the main structure of the facility; ▲whether there are any obstructions to the placement of fire extinguishers and escape routes; ▲the management status of gas cylinders and whether there are any flammable materials left behind; ▲whether the leakage circuit breaker is operating normally and whether the circuit breaker capacity is appropriate.
Minor hazards identified as a result of the inspection will be corrected on-site or before the holiday. If it is expected that safety measures will take a considerable amount of time and maintenance before the holiday is difficult, emergency measures will be taken first, and a separate maintenance plan will be established to resolve the issue.
Safety Construction Division Manager Kim Mong-hyeon said, “We will do our best to prevent accidents caused by safety issues at public facilities that will be used by many homecoming visitors and citizens during this Golden Week holiday and to ensure that everyone can have a safe and enjoyable holiday.”
