Boseong-gun conducted winter pruning training to ensure stable production of fruit trees. Boseong-gun announced that on the 24th and 26th, it provided on-site training on winter apple pruning (pruning) to 28 apple farmers within the district in Gyeombaek-myeon.
On this day, Byeong-wook Yoo, honorary researcher at the Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science, gave a lecture and provided lively field training, including theoretical education on understanding and basic knowledge of winter planting and pruning for local farmers, as well as pruning demonstrations and Q&A for the main cultivated varieties, Busa and Hongro. It was well received.
In particular, when pruning for tree growth between January and February, work tools and work clothes must be frequently disinfected to prevent pathogens from transferring to other trees, and tree ulcers, which serve as wintering grounds for pathogens, must be removed. .
In addition, it was emphasized that orchards should be managed thoroughly even in winter to prevent the occurrence of fruit burn disease.
The current status of apple cultivation in Boseong-gun is 5.9ha, and for stable production of fruit trees, △ pilot project to reduce damage from clearing out orchards by applying sunlight blocking nets, △ distribution of stable production technology for fruit trees to overcome abnormal weather, △ pilot project to establish smart management unmanned control system for open orchards, etc. It is being promoted.
A military official said, “We will continue to provide on-site technical support for the stable production of fruit trees in our region in the future,” and added, “We ask for the interest and participation of farmers.”
Meanwhile, Boseong-gun will begin paying the basic birth allowance in earnest from January 2025 to overcome the low birth rate crisis and support fostering families.
The ‘Jeollanam-do-Boseong-gun Basic Birth Allowance’ provides 200,000 won per month from age 1 to 18 to families who register their birth in Jeollanam-do after January 1, 2024, and where both parents and children have addresses in Boseong-gun.
Unless parents and children move to another local government, starting in 2025, a total of 43.2 million won, or 200,000 won per month, will be provided to those aged 1 to 18. The 100,000 won provided by Jeollanam-do will be provided in cash, and the 100,000 won provided by Boseong-gun will be paid as a mobile Boseong Love Gift Certificate.
You can apply online through Government 24 or by visiting the town/village administrative welfare center or myeon office.
Applications can be made starting 11 months after the child’s date of birth. Anyone can apply regardless of income with minimal documentation and procedures, increasing accessibility for foster families.
The military expects that by providing long-term and stable child support until children become adults, it will create an environment where parents can raise children with peace of mind and help solve the problem of population decline.
In addition, cash support is the most tangible benefit for families giving birth and raising children, and is expected to reduce the financial burden on those receiving support while promoting local consumption.
Boseong-gun Mayor Kim Cheol-woo said, “Basic birth allowance is an important first step in preparing for Boseong-gun’s future,” and added, “As this is a policy established to preemptively solve the problem of population extinction, we ask for your interest and application from residents.”
