The Technical Director of BFS Kiril Kotev and the Director of Children and Youth Football Development in BFS Lachezar Dimov visited the Rhodope region with the idea of getting information about the state of the infrastructure in the region regarding the development of Bulgarian football.
Their visit included a visit to the cities of Smolyan, Dospat, Chepelare and Zlatograd, where representatives of the Bulgarian Football Union held meetings with mayors and municipal deputies in the area.
The possibilities for developing a strategy for resuming sports and football activities in the region, restoring the infrastructure and popularizing football were discussed. Kiril Kotev and Lachezar Dimov assured the representatives of the municipalities that the Bulgarian Football Union is willing and ready to cooperate with what is necessary for the implementation of the plan.
“We had fruitful meetings. Our intentions overlap in the desire to revive the sports and football history of the region. We see football potential in the Smolyan region and believe that with the right strategy and actions, together we could achieve a lot. Lachezar Dimov, the director of development of the State University of Applied Sciences and Arts, said.
“There is a need to renovate and build more sports facilities in the district.
