Mohamed Takala announced his welcome of the ruling of the South Tripoli Court of Appeal to cancel the membership of “Abdel Salam Ghuwaila” since he assumed the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the Hamad government.

In a press conference, Takala called on local and international parties to respect the rulings of the judiciary and continue to deal with him as an official body and head of the Supreme Council until the elections are repeated, saying that the ruling issued invalidates the session to elect the president, according to him.

Takala also called on the members of the State Council to attend the session next Monday, which he will chair in the conference hall at the Rixos Complex in the capital, Tripoli.

Takala added that he will work to create a suitable environment for holding the council’s presidential elections during the next phase, according to him.

Al-Mashri: Court rulings in my favor

For his part, Khaled Al-Mishri said that the judiciary’s decisions regarding the election of the presidency of the Supreme Council of State resolved the dispute in his favor, and that the session was sound and not in doubt.

Al-Mishri based his statements on the ruling of the South Tripoli Primary Court, during a press conference in the capital, Tripoli, on Tuesday.

Al-Mishri considered that the judiciary confirmed the validity of the State Council Presidency election session and the validity of the decision to appoint him as the Council’s President, adding that any attempt to obstruct is an attempt to disrupt the Council’s work.

Al-Mishri revealed an upcoming session for the council members to complete the rest of the presidency office, which is to elect two deputies and a council rapporteur, denying the existence of any division among its members.
