The announcement was made during the meeting of the FRMF Steering Committee by the president of the federal body, Fouzi Lekjaa, who stressed that training for D1 and D2 clubs will begin on June 25 in two stages (individual training, collective training), the FRMF said in a press release published Tuesday on its website.

During this meeting, which was attended by clubs from the national championship D1 and D2, regional leagues and the national leagues of amateur football, women’s football and diversified football, Mr. Lekjaa indicated that the Committee ruled and approved all the results of the matches and resumption of the remaining days of the Pro championship (D1, D2) season 2019-2020 during the period from August 12 to September 13, 2020.

Mr. Lekjaa specified that the matches will be scheduled for Friday (two matches), Saturday (three matches), Sunday (three matches) at 18:00, 20:00 and 22:00. The FRMF president also announced that the kick-off of the 2020-2021 season will be on October 16, 2020.

During this meeting, Mr. Lekjaa affirmed that following the recent deconfinement measures announced by the public authorities and in consultation with the competent authorities, it was decided to subject the members of the national championship clubs to medical tests according to the health protocol in force.

Furthermore, he announced that training for clubs in the amateur division, all categories combined, regional leagues, clubs in the national junior championship, women’s football and futsal clubs will begin from July 15, respecting the same health and sports measures taken in the national Pro championship. Matches in these categories will resume on August 15, 2020, he added.

The FRMF recalls that in application of the recommendations of the council of the International Football Association Board (IFAB, body responsible for the laws of the game, dated May 8, 2020), clubs will be able to make five changes during a single match instead of three previously authorized, and this as part of temporary measures taken to mitigate the impact of matches on players after this pandemic.

The national football family will receive a guide detailing these measures which will be published on the official website of the federal body, adds the same source.

At the end of this meeting, the president of the FRMF, together with the members of the Steering Committee, invited the entire national football family to respect the decisions announced during this meeting by preserving the interests of the discipline in general and the health of Moroccan youth in particular within the framework of the preventive measures taken in coordination with the competent authorities.

The FRMF announced on March 14 the suspension of all football matches, all categories combined, until further notice.
