Evangelical voters in the city of São Paulo are divided in their voting preferences for the mayor: the current president, Ricardo Nunes (MDB) and Pablo Marçal (PRTB) seem tied in this segment. Boulos lost by three points in this group of voters.

Datafolha released a new survey on the voting intentions of São Paulo residents in the next elections and when the data is cut by religion, Nunes and Marçal are technically tied.

The current mayor rose five points and now has 27% of evangelical voting intentions, while Marçal dropped one point, now registering 29%. Because of the margin of error, it can be said to be a technical tie.

Third place is far from the first two: Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) has 9%, a 3% drop in percentage. This situation is the result of warnings given by Christian leaders regarding the candidate’s opportunity.

The same cut by religion among Catholics shows a very different situation: Mayor Ricardo Nunes (Catholic) is leading with 27%, Boulos has 24% and Marçal is now at 16%, a drop of one point.

In the general analysis, Boulos is ahead numerically, with 23% of the intentions, while Marçal and Nunes are with 22% each. The margin of error is six percentage points for evangelicals and five points for Catholics.

According to information from the newspaper Hidden in S. Pauloevangelicals and Catholics represent, respectively, 24% and 38% of the total sample. The survey on voting intentions was carried out between 3 and 4 September, listening to 1,204 voters, and is registered with the number SP-03608/2024 at the Electoral Court.
