The telecom operator wants to strengthen its societal role. A way to meet the expectations of its customers, but also of its employees.

«Today, the French telecoms market is stabilized in a world of four. Bouygues Telecom experienced a phase of strong growth, then a crisis. The group is entering a third phase, marked by a long-term commitment, beyond pure business“, explains Benoît Torloting, CEO of Bouygues Telecom, on the occasion of the presentation of a new initiative led by the group: “I donate gigabytes».

The operation will be launched on October 29 with group employees, then on October 7 for the general public. Bouygues Telecom is committed to offering 20,000 20 GB packages over two years and 10,000 smartphones (Doro, for the elderly and a Realme MEC11) to four associations.

Bouygues Telecom customers and employees will be able to choose to donate one gigabyte to one of these four associations: APF Handicap, FAGE, Little Brothers of the Poor and Social Builder. All four fight against digital exclusion, and “need packages and smartphones“. It is actually a symbolic donation of gigabytes made by Bouygues Telecom subscribers since nothing will be deducted from their package – the process would be technically very complicated to implement.

CSR plays a growing role

«With this donation, we also want to make our customers and employees aware of the actions carried out by these associations.“, explains Benoît Torloting. The operator is going to carry out an advertising campaign, in which the associations will be cited, a means of enabling them to benefit from the advertising investments made by Bouygues Telecom for the occasion.

«The societal role of the company is fundamentaladds the general manager. Beyond the package at the right price, the company’s commitments are starting to become important for customers and employees.“. Young recruits arein search of meaning. CSR is not even an option anymore.. The Bouygues group is committed to reducing its carbon footprint by 50% by 2030. On the social level, he claims a role “associate of associations».
