After nearly three years, Bowers & Wilkins finally brought the Px7 S2, the sequel to the Px7 noise-cancelling headphones. This new product with a price of US$399 has been replaced with a completely different design, and the sound quality and active noise reduction performance have also been enhanced. Compared with the previous generation, its body has become lighter, and the earmuffs are also softer and more comfortable. The manufacturer provides consumers with three colors of black, gray and blue. Through the physical buttons on the right side of the headset, you can still easily switch the phone, adjust the volume, control playback, answer calls, etc., while the button on the left supports customization. Can be used to quickly launch noise cancelling or voice assistants.

The Px7 S2 has a built-in 40mm unit, which is officially said to have “extremely quick response” and can present “every detail” and “natural sound field” in your music. The device is also equipped with a DSP for 24-bit streaming and supports aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, aptX, AAC and SBC codecs. As for the noise reduction part, it relies on a combination of four microphones to achieve, and B&W has also optimized the corresponding algorithm. In addition, there is also a transparent mode. You can also adjust the EQ in the companion app, and subsequent updates will bring a new in-app player to the software.

According to the manufacturer’s test, the Px7 S2 can be used for up to 30 hours on a single charge, but it does not specify whether noise reduction is turned on during the period. After 15 minutes of plugging in, the unit gets the power required for 7 hours of listening, 2 hours more than the previous generation. In addition to announcing the Px7 S2, Bowers & Wilkins also took the opportunity to tease the launch of its flagship Px8, priced at US$549 later this year, but if you can’t wait, the Px7 S2 is on sale now.
