The British audio product manufacturer Bowers & Wilkins, also known as B&W, announced the pair of headphones Pi7 S2 and-Pi5 S2updated versions of the company’s previous Pi7 and Pi5 headphones that come with active noise filtering (ANC) and longer usage time, while the Pi7 model retains its unique feature in the form of a charging case that can also be used as a Bluetooth transmitter.
The new Pi7 S2 and Pi5 S2 headphones come as a refreshed version of the original Pi7 and Pi5 models introduced in 2021, with the new models maintaining the high audio quality of the previous generation and continuing to use a dual 9.2 mm driver, in addition to the feature The unique one available in the Pi7 S2 model, which allows you to use its carrying and charging case for audio transmission from various devices using a USB-C to 3.5 mm adapter.
Both models come with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, with the Pi5 S2 model supporting the aptX codec and using 2 microphones in each earpiece for noise filtering. The more expensive Pi7 S2 model supports the aptX HD and aptX adaptive codecs for improved audio quality with 24bit audio support and 3 microphones for noise filtering.
The biggest change between the previous 2021 models and the new S2 is their battery time. While the new Pi7 S2 headphones offer up to 5 hours of use on a single charge compared to 4 in the previous generation, along with an additional 16 hours with their charging case, the Pi5 S2 model offers up to 5 hours of use compared to 4.5 hours in the previous generation and an additional 19 Overtime with the charging case.
In both cases, it is about the time of using the headphones without active noise filtering, when the carrying cases support Qi wireless charging and fast wired charging that provides two hours of use with only 15 minutes of charging.
The new Bowers & Wilkins Pi7 S2 and Pi5 S2 headphones are available for sale for $399 and $299, respectively.
