This year Salman Khan’s film was not released on Eid and this time the responsibility of earning was on the shoulders of Ajay Devgan along with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. Yes, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ was released along with Ajay Devgan’s ‘Maidan’ on Eid 2024 and both the films together have made a great collection. Ajay Devgan’s sports drama film ‘Maidan’ is a biopic of Syed Abdul Rahim, known as the Golden Boy of Indian football, which is receiving rave reviews from critics and audiences. On the occasion of Eid, despite not getting good reviews, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s film ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ has won on the opening day. Although, it was expected that this film would collect Rs 18 to 20 crores, but it fell short of this.
Both the films ‘Maidan’ and ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ were earlier to be released on April 10. The date of Eid got postponed and the release date of both the films was also shifted to April 11. ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ has been released on around 2500 screens in India, whereas ‘Maidan’ has got less than 2000 screens. This film of Akshay and Tiger has been released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages and it is said that the budget of the film is around Rs 350 crore.
The budget of ‘Maidan’ is Rs 250 crore less than that of ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’.
Whereas the budget of ‘Maidan’ made under the direction of Amit Sharma is Rs 100 crore. In such a situation, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ will have to work hard to recover its costs. Talking about earnings, this film has earned around Rs 7.10 crore at the box office on the first day i.e. less than half as compared to ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’. However, it is expected that this film is going to get full benefit of word of mouth and the crowd will definitely knock in the theaters to see the real hard work of the football coach on screen. In terms of worldwide collection, the film has earned Rs 10.40 crore. The film has collected Rs 2 crore in foreign countries.
