What could be more surprising than the fact that the films which have been re-released are earning more at the box office than the films which have just been completed. On September 13, Soham Shah’s 6-year-old film ‘Tumbbad’ was re-released along with Kareena Kapoor’s ‘The Buckingham Murders’. There were a lot of expectations from Kareena’s film. The director of the film is National Award winner Hansal Mehta. But all the hopes were dashed. ‘Tumbbad’ defeated Kareena’s ‘The Buckingham Murders’ in such a way that it did not even ask for water. At the same time, Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Goat’ is also in a bad shape. The film which had an opening of Rs 44 crore, its earnings have come down to 2 crores every day. While Tumbbad crossed its 6-year-old lifetime collection in just 7 days of re-release, ‘The Buckingham Murders’ has proved to be the biggest disaster of Kareena’s career. ‘Tumbaad’ had shown ‘The Buckingham Murders’ stars in the daytime within five days of its re-release. Now it has beaten this film in earnings on the seventh day as well. On the other hand, Thalapathy Vijay’s GOAT is counting its last breaths. All it has to rely on is National Cinema Day.

Made on a budget of 40 crores, the total collection of this film is 7.53 crores and it has proved to be a flop. However, it can definitely earn some decent money on National Cinema Day and the upcoming weekend.
‘Tumbbad’ Re-Release Collection
Horror-thriller ‘Tumbbad’ has surpassed its 6-year-old lifetime collection. Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, the film earned Rs 1.25 crore on the seventh day. If the figures of the original release and re-release are combined, the total collection becomes 26.60 crore net. It is estimated that its earnings may increase further on National Cinema Day on Friday, September 20, because the ticket price is only 99 rupees. Along with increasing earnings, it can make another record. When released in the year 2018, ‘Tumbbad’ remained at the box office for 8 days, but now after being re-released, it can remain at the box office for a few more days.
